Terms of Use

Effective September 22, 2026 · Last reviewed September 22, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern use of BriteLink Education Inc. websites, demonstrations and services unless a signed institutional agreement states otherwise. By creating an account or using a service, you agree to these Terms and applicable policies.

2. Educational service

BriteLink provides educational software, content and program-delivery tools. It does not guarantee academic, employment, legal, housing, health, recidivism or other external outcomes.

3. Professional boundaries

BriteLink is not a law firm, legal clinic, health provider, counselling service, probation or parole authority, government agency or emergency service. Legal, mental-health and system-navigation content is general education and does not replace qualified professional advice.

4. Eligibility and authority

Users must have authority to create the account and provide submitted information. Organizations are responsible for participant notice, consent or other authority; staff permissions; safeguarding; accommodations; and compliance obligations that apply to their programs.

5. Accounts

Users must safeguard credentials, provide accurate information and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. Accounts may not be shared in a way that defeats assigned roles or auditability.

6. Acceptable use

Users may not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or reverse engineer protected elements, upload unlawful or harmful content, impersonate another person, infringe rights, or use NEXT to make prohibited high-impact decisions.

7. Data minimization

Users and partners must not enter unnecessary legal case files, clinical notes, identity documents, correctional records, passwords or other sensitive information outside the agreed service scope.

8. AI-assisted functions

AI-assisted content or feedback may be incomplete, inaccurate or biased. It must not be treated as a legal opinion, diagnosis, professional certification, eligibility decision or guarantee. Human review is required where output may materially affect a learner.

9. Learning records and reports

Reports describe activity recorded in the platform, such as assignments, completion and knowledge checks. Platform activity does not by itself establish causation or prove external social outcomes.

10. Intellectual property

BriteLink retains rights in its software, branding and original content. Authorized users receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for the agreed purpose. Partner-owned content and data remain subject to the applicable agreement.

11. Third-party services

The service relies on third-party infrastructure for hosting, authentication, database, storage and selected AI-assisted functions. Provider details relevant to a proposed institutional deployment are available during due diligence and should be addressed in the applicable agreement.

12. Availability and changes

BriteLink may update content and functionality as the service develops. Interruptions may occur. Specific uptime, support, change-notice or continuity commitments apply only when agreed in writing.

13. Suspension and termination

BriteLink may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address security, unlawful activity, non-payment, serious misuse or risk to users. Institutional offboarding, export and deletion should follow the signed agreement.

14. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, services are provided without guarantees beyond those expressly agreed in writing. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded. Institutional agreements should define appropriate liability, insurance and remedies for the particular implementation.

15. Governing law

Unless a signed agreement provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there.

16. Contact and complaints

Questions may be sent to hello@britelink.org. Privacy, accessibility, safety, content and service complaints may be submitted through the published Complaints, Corrections & Appeals process.

These public Terms do not replace a negotiated pilot, data-processing or institutional services agreement. BriteLink should obtain Canadian legal review before relying on these Terms for higher-risk or paid institutional deployment.
